President Duties
Updated: November 6th, 2014 11:06 AM (MT)

Note: The vice president automatically moves to the position of president for the year following their election as VP, and continues to serve for a third year in the role of immediate past president as a voting member of the executive council. Because of the succession rules, the annual STC RMC ballot does not include candidates for the office of president.

The president's responsibilities include:

  • Help form chapter policy, goals, and objectives
  • Write and publish the monthly eblast to all chapter members
  • Preside and speak at chapter meetings
  • Prepare annual report for annual business meeting
  • Represent RMC for all external inquiries
  • Conduct meetings of the chapter administrative council
  • Assign duties to officers and appoint assistants or committees as needed
  • Supply guidelines for budgets, expenditures, and other fiscal activities
  • Share ideas with other chapter leaders and submit reports to the STC leadership

Typical commitment: 3-6 hours/week
