Vice President Duties

Note: The vice president automatically moves to the position of president for the year following the election and continues to serve for a third year in the role of immediate past president as a voting member of the executive council. Because this position leads to the chapter presidency, the vice president needs all the qualities of a good president: enthusiasm, energy, responsibility, and good problem-solving skills.


The vice president's responsibilities include:

  • Help form chapter policy, goals, and objectives
  • Participate in chapter activities and meetings to gain experience
  • Assume the duties of chapter president when needed
  • Identify possible committee managers and develop plans for the next term
  • Manage the Chapter Achievement Award (CAA) process and complete the application
  • Act as liaison with local universities and student chapters as needed

Typical commitment: 2-4 hours/week
