STC RMC offers several web-based resources, including notes from past meetings, an FAQ about freelance technical communication, and a list of employment agencies that place technical communicators. Topics of interest to independent contractors can be posted in the chapter's discussion list (you must be a chapter member to join list). The STC RMC discussion list is always a good way to network with other freelancers. It is especially useful to members who are unable to attend chapter meetings.
