Joel Meier Receives Associate Fellow in Atlanta 2013

His citation reads, “For outstanding leadership of the Rocky Mountain chapter, sustained contributions to the website and blog, implementing advanced and innovative technologies to streamline processes, arranging and hosting creative networking events, and mentoring other technical communicators.”

Joel began his career at JD Edwards by contributing an innovative solution to the development of an automated replacement screenshot process that earned acclaimed reviews by industry peers.

Throughout his career, he has leveraged technology to reduce development time and expense, while improving overall quality of the deliverable. Joel continually finds ways to enhance the user experience, maximizing efficiencies by implementing state-of-the-art development technologies.

Joel persistently pioneers innovative solutions using the latest technologies. His skill in adapting new technologies to create client and customer satisfaction is exemplary.

He blogs about recent technological advances, making the information interesting and inviting to both experts and novices.
In addition, he mentors volunteers within the STC Rocky Mountain Chapter (STC RMC) and Boulder Writers Alliance (BWA).

While fulfilling his STC RMC presidential role, he focused on improving membership value, increasing financial accountability, and initiating and completing several cost-saving measures.

Through Joel’s STC volunteer activities, he strives to mentor writers, managers, volunteers, and chapter leadership.  Well done Joel!

About Martha Sippel

Martha Sippel is an STC Fellow who has developed and presented compelling, accurate technical material for more than 35 years. She consistently receives recognition for her contributions, from the Distinguished Chapter Service Award to international awards for her work on CH2M HILL's intranet and was recognized for being an outstanding mentor to STC's Charlotte Regional Chapter. Martha is a board director for the Park Meadows Metropolitan District, a South Suburban Park Foundation (501c3) board trustee, a Certified Interpretive Guide (National Association for Interpretation or NAI), and volunteers for the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA), STC Rocky Mountain Chapter (RMC), and her HOA. She served as a City of Lone Tree Planning Commissioner from 2008-2015. As Principal of AzuWrite LLC, she helps design effective user interfaces for websites and web applications and provides user experience, usability, and information architecture expertise to clients.
